Welcome to The Boot, one of St Albans and the UK’s most historically rich pubs, located right in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter.
Built in 1420, The Boot is one of the oldest pubs in the UK and remains a traditional public house serving a great selection of real ale, fine wines and homemade food.
Located on St Albans famous Market Place, you will find yourself close to some of the finest landmarks St Albans has to offer including The Clock Tower and St Albans Cathedral.
The Boot is the first “Battlefield Pub” to be named by The Battlefields Trust. The Boot would have stood as an observer to the First Battle of St Albans of The War of The Roses as the battle was fought around the Clock Tower and Market Place. A painting of the battle is on the wall of the pub.
